What will be, Will be

Well, today didn’t quite go to plan! I set off early, eager to reach the trailhead, but fate had other ideas — an accident along the way put an end to that plan. So, after a brief detour a few kilometres up the main highway, I turned back and decided to make the most of it.

It turned out to be a lovely morning wandering around town before the tour groups descended. I snapped some great photos while the streets were still quiet and peaceful — a silver lining to my diverted plans!

The rest of the day was spent trying to organise my grand exit from Mostar. It seems the trains and my bike are not on friendly terms, so I’ll be relying on the charm (and goodwill!) of tomorrow’s bus drivers.

I’ve got three options lined up: one goes straight to Dubrovnik, another only as far as Čapljina near the Croatian border, and the third just across to Metković.

So tomorrow is in the hands of fate — I’ll either have a short or long bus ride ahead of me. Either way, it’s sure to be an adventure. It will definitely be sad to say goodbye to Bosnia — this country has truly captured my heart.
