Today’s ride was mostly flat and easy, 38 kilometres, with just one small incline to tackle. The trickiest bit was a 650-metre stretch down a narrow little range with buses and trucks whizzing past—but I made it through! Most of the day was spent cycling past farmland and crops, which was lovely.
I’ve found a cozy one-bedroom place to stay for two nights, complete with a kitchen so I can cook. This area is really popular for hiking, so tomorrow I’ll swap the bike for my walking shoes and explore the trails. Then on Wednesday, it’s time to head towards the Croatian border for the next stage of the adventure.
