All booked right through until I return to Mexico on the 23rd of March — it’s amazing how quickly the calendar fills when life is lived on the move. For now, I’m happily settled in Ankara with Vildan, soaking up a moment of calm before launching into sightseeing tomorrow.
From Ankara, I’ll be flying north to Trabzon to lend a hand to Nuri on his hazelnut farm. No animals this time (as far as I know), just good old-fashioned gardening and helping out where needed. Harvest season is in August, so I’ll be catching the farm in its quieter rhythm.
Then comes the part I’m already pre-emptively sad about — flying out of Turkey on the 28th February. Next stop: Sofia, Bulgaria, where I’ll spend three weeks looking after three adorable Yorkies while their English mum heads to Egypt to sort accommodation for them all. They live tucked away in the mountains between a couple of very old Bulgarian villages, which sounds like the perfect place to slow down, learn, and experience local culture from the inside.
On the 22nd March, it’s back to Madrid, then onwards to Mexico, landing in Guadalajara on the 23rd. As one adventure gently winds to a close, another familiar joy begins — being wrapped back into the everyday celebrations of life in Mexico, reconnecting with friends, and plotting whatever journey comes next.
Because really, the adventure never ends — it just changes scenery.
