Just when I think I finally know what I’m doing… my plans change again.
I’ve just been offered a Workaway at an alternative school in Sofia. Now, this is slightly amusing because I’m not normally known for being particularly “child friendly.”
Yet somehow I’ve agreed to help teach cooking to children aged 5 to 13. Yes… you read that correctly.
I’m actually laughing as I write this. 🤣 🤣
Hopefully they have some very simple recipes and some very well-behaved children. When I was a child, I distinctly remember the motivational presence of a wooden spoon in the kitchen. Somehow I suspect that teaching method may no longer be acceptable these days.
Jane arrives Monday afternoon, so that means I’ll be heading off from Chirpan on Monday as well to make my way to Sofia and start this unexpected little adventure.
It will also give me a chance to explore Sofia and see some of the sights while I’m there. And who knows — perhaps the kids will end up teaching me a thing or two.
