When a sip is never enough.

Friday night I was invited to “break bread” and learn about the first three festivals of God — Passover, Matzot and Reshit Katzir.

I already knew that some religious traditions had moved away from the ancient calendar, but this faith group follows a calendar that can include 13 months.

Add Hebrew, ancient festivals and different interpretations of the Bible, and I quickly realised this was probably a little too advanced for me.

Trying to follow everything through an English translation from German was keeping my brain very busy.

And then came the wine… 🍷

There were two small glasses of red wine — one for the men and one for the women. You took a sip and passed it along.

Honestly, I think I might have understood the Hebrew calendar a lot better if there had been a few more glasses going around!

Another Chaco experience — and definitely one I’ll remember. Kristen and Marylin enjoyed it that’s the main thing.
