A day of discovery in Bosnia

Today was all about sightseeing around town — a soft, overcast sky above, but thankfully no rain in sight. Before arriving, I knew next to nothing about Bosnia’s history, and honestly, I’d never heard anyone say, “I’m off on holiday to Bosnia!” But now I can say — everyone’s missing out!

Bosnia is a hidden gem bursting with warmth and hospitality. The people are incredibly friendly, the streets impressively clean, and the atmosphere just feels… welcoming.

One highlight of the day was stumbling upon a lovely market where a group of cheerful ladies were knitting away, surrounded by colourful displays of socks, scarves, hats, and the softest pure sheep’s wool yarn. (Tempting doesn’t even begin to cover it!)

Even better — the Australian Dollar is almost on par with the Bosnian Convertible Mark, so my wallet’s as happy as I am!

From wandering the historic Kastel Fortress, to exploring charming churches, markets, and an irresistible Turkish Delight shop, the day turned out to be a perfect mix of relaxation, learning, and sweet treats.

Bosnia — you’ve been the best kind of surprise!
