A Farewell, 41 Degrees and What’s Next?

It was sad saying goodbye to Jan, but hopefully we’ll cross paths again at another Workaway. Sadly, the greenhouse wasn’t finished, so with Marilyn finally delivering more mesh, it’s now a one-woman project!

Thursday and Friday were great at the horse therapy centre, although with temperatures reaching 41°C, the heat was taking its toll on concentration!

I also enjoyed a lovely lunch with Melvin and his wife, Gudrun, and discovered a few volunteering possibilities. One is a Wednesday sewing group where ladies transform donated sheets into fitted sheets and repair clothing. They occasionally need extra hands, so hopefully my warm smile and listening skills will compensate for my less-than-fluent Spanish and German!

The schools close in ten days, but there are other projects being organised in Indigenous communities, and I’ve put my name forward.

For now, it’s back to the greenhouse, the horses and waiting to see what opportunities come my way. Life in the Chaco is never dull!
