Well… apparently my culinary adventures have now reached a whole new level.
I’ve eaten horse in Mongolia, camel in the Morocco, yak in the Himalayas, buffalo along the way — and now, here in Paraguay, I can officially add donkey to the list.
Yes… donkey.
It arrived in the form of a rather innocent-looking sausage, which, to be perfectly honest, looked far more like something that belonged on a barbecue than something that once had four legs, large ears and a very questionable attitude.
By this stage in my travels, I’ve learnt one important rule:
Never ask too many questions before taking the first bite.
So I bravely tucked in.
And surprisingly… it was actually quite good!
I’m not sure whether I should be impressed by my increasingly adventurous palate or slightly concerned about the direction my dinner choices are heading.
