The room cost 100,000 PYG — about AUD $24.00 — and apparently toilet paper is a luxury extra, adding another 3,000 PYG to the bill. 😂
If you don’t specifically ask for a towel or blanket… you don’t get one. Thankfully, when I asked, I was presented with a rather fetching microfibre blanket decorated with large red roses.
The room itself came complete with cracked tiles in both the bedroom and ensuite, plus a slightly insecure door lock. Fortunately, I travel with door jammers, so my inner security guard was satisfied.
Marilyn had recommended the place, so I’m taking the experience in good humour. After all, they say you can tell your mind anything and eventually it will believe you.
So tonight I’m going to close my eyes and imagine five-star white sheets, gleaming tiles, fluffy towels and a bathroom worthy of a luxury hotel.
