Well, it seems Paraguay is starting to get noticed!
An article published by Travel + Leisure recently highlights Paraguay as an emerging retirement and digital-nomad hotspot — thanks to its relatively low cost of living, affordable property, flexible residency options and some attractive tax advantages.
Apparently, you can still find a one-bedroom apartment in one of Asunción’s more upmarket areas for around US$700 a month, with everyday living costs considerably lower than in the US. And residency is being described as relatively straight forward compared with some other countries.
The article also points out that Paraguay is attracting increasing numbers of foreigners looking for somewhere to live, work or retire — particularly people wanting to stretch their money a little further while enjoying a different pace of life.
And this is the bit I find interesting…
With all the noise and uncertainty happening in various parts of Europe, the United States and Asia, it seems people are beginning to look a little further afield for their next chapter.
Or maybe Paraguay has been quietly getting on with things while the rest of us were looking elsewhere.
Either way, it will be interesting to watch what happens as more people discover this fascinating little corner of South America.
