The last two photos are of the old prison ruins right in the heart of Podgorica. These crumbling walls have seen better days — and, it seems, busier nights. The city’s homeless and those struggling with addiction apparently take refuge there after dark, turning the ruins into a rather unconventional hostel. At least they’ve found a spot with a roof (well, partly) to keep the chill at bay.
Word is, the site is destined for a shiny new high-rise soon — so for now, the old prison gets one last chapter before it goes from “haunted history” to “modern luxury.”
