
The morning began in spectacular fashion — the sky painted itself in oranges and yellows, as if it knew it had an audience. Absolutely breathtaking. A perfect start to the day… visually, at least.
Temperature-wise, it’s a brisk 5 degrees outside. We’re promised a generous high of 12 degrees today, though only between the very exclusive hours of 1pm and 2pm. Blink and you’ll miss it.
And yet — somehow — without fail, there are a couple of delightfully unhinged Turks who head into the sea around lunchtime every single day. Swimming feels too generous a word. Bobbing is more accurate. Human corks, really.
Admirable? Maybe. Brave? Definitely. Joining them? Absolutely not. That is one local tradition I will be appreciating strictly from dry land, wrapped in several layers, with warm hands and zero regrets.
